The Pharmacy Cancer Care Gap
For patients and their care partners, there is a need for evidence-informed guidance, support and care around treatment and symptom management within community pharmacies. We refer to this as the cancer care gap.
The Canadian Cancer Statistics Advisory Committee projects that nearly half of Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime (Brenner, 2026). Take-home cancer drugs are emerging as a standard treatment option for many cancer types (Ontario College of Pharmacists, 2024). As the number of novel therapies and complexity of these treatments rises, so too does the need for up-to-date resources and specialization in oncology pharmacy.

Our proven process
Extended Cancer Care™
Extended Cancer Care™ is our evidence-based care model informed by Cancer Care Ontario, the Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology, and the Ambulatory Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Key Performance Indicators. This workflow was built by oncology pharmacists to provide accessible, seamless and collaborative cancer care in the community pharmacy setting.
Patients and their care partners receive guidance and support from our oncology pharmacy team on safe medication use, side‐effect monitoring and assistance with reimbursement programs.
Partner Pharmacies receive real-time clinical support and ongoing education, empowering them to diversify their service offering to support the unique needs of their patients with cancer.
